SEVIS Workshop Now Online
The F-1 SEVIS workshop is now available online. Please view this audiovisual PowerPoint presentation on how to maintain your F-1 status. All F-1 students are required to view this presentation. If you have any questions regarding the topics covered, please see Kate in room 108 during office hours.
NEW STUDENTS: US Mailing Addresses Needed
In order to maintain your F-1 status, you must provide your US mailing address, where you live here. If you have not yet done so, log on to Banner and update your address using the “Mailing Address” option in the drop down menu. For instructions on how to update your address, please, and read pages 7-11. Don’t forget to include your apartment number!
Do you have Immigration Questions?
Kate is now holding virtual office hours every Friday at 3:00 PM using Lync, Microsoft's instant messaging/video platform!
Please check to make sure you have completed your medical requirements so that you do not have a medical hold placed on your account.
Medical holds will result in the following situations:
- You will not receive your class schedule.
- You will not be able to attend any classes at the Language Institute.
- Absences due to medical holds are not excused.
- We cannot process any request for transcripts and certificates.
If you have any questions about medical requirements or need to make an appointment for immunizations, please see Linda or Adria at the front desk in the O'Keefe Building before the start of Summer Session.
In order to transfer to a new school, go to the front desk and request a Transfer Out Form. Complete the form and give it and your acceptance letter to Kate. She will set your SEVIS record up to transfer on 08/01/2014. She cannot transfer your SEVIS record before the session ends. If you plan to travel outside the U.S. before your next program begins, you can contact your new school on or after 08/01/2014 for your new I-20. You must complete your transfer within 60 days of 08/01/2014. In addition, you must begin your new program at the next available start date or within five months. If your new program will begin after five months, you will need to request a new SEVIS record from your new school. Then, you will need to leave the US and re-enter on your new I-20.
