The Language Institute can assist students with a variety of housing options.
On-Campus Housing: GT Dormitories
(Typically available from January to July)
Living on campus is an excellent way to practice English. When rooms are available, students will be assigned to the same dormitories as regular Georgia Tech students, so there will be plenty of opportunities to practice English. Georgia Tech requires that a student must be 25 years old or younger in order to live on campus.

Four residents live in a four bedroom, two bathroom, furnished apartment. Each student has a private bedroom and shares a bathroom with one other student. Four students share the kitchen, dining and living area. Bedrooms are furnished with a bed (with extra-long mattress), desk, desk chair, wardrobe and dresser. The furniture in the common area consists of a couch, with end table, a coffee table, and chair as well as a dining table with four chairs.
Off-campus housing is available year-round. Students can choose from a variety of different housing types, locations, and prices. When considering off-campus options, students should keep the following information in mind:
Off-campus student apartments function like a private dormitory and have easy access to Georgia Tech campus. Students will be responsible for paying the rent for their bedroom only. These apartments are always furnished and include utilities. Students will have a private bedroom but may share a bathroom, kitchen, and common area with 1-3 roommates depending on the property and available apartment.
Off-campus traditional apartments are located throughout the city. The communities closest to Georgia Tech are Midtown and Buckhead. Traditional apartments are almost always unfurnished and the student will be responsible for paying the rent for the entire apartment as well as all utilities.
Homestays provides students an opportunity to live with an American family in a private home. Students will almost always have a private bedroom but may share a bathroom with other members of the house. Based on the homestay option you choose, your family may also provide meals and transportation for the student.
The off-campus residence functions similarly to a hostel but it is exclusively for international visitors to Atlanta. Students may select a private room or share a room depending on your preferences and availability. Bathrooms may also be private or shared. There will also be a shared kitchen and common space available to residents.
Some options for these types of residences are outlined in the chart below.
Furnished, private bathrooms, rent includes all utilities, luxury units available for additional price
Free shuttle to GT campus available
*Leases shorter than 12 months may incur an additional monthly fee.
The information in the chart above is provided for your convenience. Neither Georgia Tech nor the Language Institute is able to recommend or directly promote any of these options. Housing contracts are binding legal documents and are usually one year in length.
