Georgia Tech Language Institute (GTLI) Temporary Relocation FAQ
Effective: 5/2/2025 through 8/17/2025
The GTLI is undergoing renovations through the beginning of the Fall 1 term. During this period:
- All classes will be held in classroom locations across the main Georgia Tech campus.
- The GTLI administrative team will operate remotely while based at the Global Learning Center (GLC).
- All support services will be delivered virtually.

Academic Instruction
Where will my classes take place?
All classes are temporarily relocated across Georgia Tech’s main campus. For detailed class location information, please click this link.
Will my class schedule or instructors change because of the renovation?
Starting Summer 2025, the GTLI is moving to block scheduling, with longer class sessions held on Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday. Students should view their class schedule on BuzzPort for time and instructor information. To view the schedule for the Summer 2025 session, please click this link.
Does block scheduling affect my F-1 visa status?
No. All classes meet the required instructional time for F-1 students.
Administrative and Student Support
Where is the GTLI office now?
GTLI staff are working from the Global Learning Center (GLC), 4th floor, located at 310 10th St NW, Atlanta, GA, 30318.
How can I schedule a meeting with an Admissions Advisor or Student Support Coordinator?
Email askgtli@pe.gatech.edu or call 404-376-8236 to request an appointment. All meetings will be held virtually.
Will student events like Language Café continue?
Yes. Some student activities will continue during the renovation. Event details will be posted regularly in “In the Know” on Canvas.
How will I receive updates/information from the Language Institute?
Important information such as renovation updates, class registration, schedule changes, etc. will be communicated with students via Canvas and their GT email.
Can I pick up documents or certificates?
Yes. Please request the document(s) you need with a member of the GTLI staff. Staff will prepare and authorize the document(s) to be picked up at the GLC front desk.
Logistics and Campus Life
Are there any changes to visa or housing requirements?
No. The relocation does not affect housing, visa compliance, or international student requirements.
My classes are now far away from my assigned parking spot. Is there parking available closer to my classes?
Students may contact support@pts.gatech.edu to request their parking spot be updated for the summer. Please see the campus parking map here.
If students do not wish to move their parking location, they can take the free Georgia Tech shuttle (the Stinger) to campus. For Stinger routes, click this link.
Where do I go if I’m late or get lost?
If you will be late to class or have difficulty finding your classroom(s), please call or text us at 404-376-8236.
Is there a quiet place to study near my new classroom location?
Yes. Language Institute students have access to most Georgia Tech facilities on campus such as the Library and Student Center. For study space locations, please click this link.
