Karen Peterson has taught in the field of ESL for 30 years and loves teaching. She began her career at Georgia State University, where she received her master’s degree. Since 1993, she has taught at the Language Institute at Georgia Tech. She has taught all levels and courses in the program and she also taught in numerous special programs including the founding year of the summer program for Chinese students, the Quantitative Computation Finance program, and the Pre-MBA program at Emory University. She created an e-portfolio course for Coursera and several Language Institute courses including Business Case Studies, Team Leadership and Advanced Listening. In 2013, she received an Innovation Award from Georgia Tech and she recently coordinated the German Fulbright program. She also loves traveling and has traveled to a variety of countries and taught ESL in both Japan and Tajikistan.
