Melanie received her M.A. in Applied Linguistics in 2001 and taught ESL at Georgia Perimeter College for 10 years before joining the LI. In addition, she has taught several literature and linguistics courses at Ramkhamhaeng University in Bangkok, Thailand, and conducted ESL teacher workshops at universities in Japan, South Korea, Turkey, and Bulgaria. Her professional presentation topics include information literacy skills, online literature circles, and blogging. Besides language and culture, she loves the outdoors, gardening, and vegetarian cuisine.
